Vinyl floor cleaning and polishing

Vinyl floor cleaning and polishing for commercial premises

Vinyl floor cleaning covers commercial sheet vinyl, vinyl tile and LVT that has lost its even sheen or is holding a dirty finish. Offices, clinics and schools book it when mopping no longer restores the colour. Ask for a quote on the form or WhatsApp with photos of a worn patch and the square metres.

Yellowed polish, powdering finish, black scuff lines and a sticky feel underfoot mean the old coat should come off or be scrubbed back. A dull but intact LVT often needs a clean, not a new seal.

How it works

Machine cleaning a commercial floor
  1. Look at the floor We check the surface, how soiled it is, and when the room can close, then price the visit from that.
  2. Clean that surface A scrub, extraction or degrease matched to the floor. Dirty water is taken up, not pushed along with a mop.
  3. Finish only if it belongs Polish or seal goes on vinyl and linoleum that need it. Safety floors, worn-through timber and peeling resin do not get a shine coat.

What the quote is based on

Quotes follow square metres, soil, access and whether we work while you are closed. A usual UK guide is about £1.50–£3.50 per m² for a machine scrub, £3–£6 per m² for a deep scrub, and £8–£15 per m² when a vinyl or linoleum floor needs strip and seal. Stone and heavy grease sit at the top of that range. Send the form or WhatsApp for a figure on your floor.

Prep

Move light furniture or book a time when the room is empty. Tell us the product name if the floor is a named LVT.

Aftercare

New polish needs the cure window on the quote, often overnight, before desks and wet shoes return. Daily care is a neutral detergent. High-alkaline degreasers strip the finish early.

How long it lasts

A sound seal on a busy corridor often wants a scrub and recoat within 12 to 18 months. Heavy entrances fail sooner. The maintenance plan page is the way to stop a full strip every year.

DIY versus a machine

A steam mop can soften adhesive at the joints. Household polish builds a slip film that then has to be stripped.

Wrong job

This is not safety-floor cleaning and not wood sanding. If the floor is textured to resist slips, see the safety floor page. Bare or unsealed timber is a sanding trade, which we do not do.

Questions

How do I book vinyl floor cleaning?

Use the quote form or WhatsApp with the floor type, approximate square metres and the hours the area can be empty. We reply with a visit plan and a price.

What changes the price?

Area, how soiled the floor is, the chemistry the surface allows, and out-of-hours access. A small room with a failed finish can cost more per metre than a large floor that only needs a scrub.

How long until people can walk on it?

A scrub-and-dry floor is usually ready when it is dry to the touch. A new seal or polish needs the cure time stated on the quote, often overnight, before furniture or wet shoes go back.

Can our own cleaners do this instead?

Daily mopping keeps loose dust down. It does not pull soil out of grout, safety texture or a worn vinyl finish. If the floor still looks tired after a proper mop, it needs a machine visit.

Do you always strip vinyl?

No. LVT in fair condition is scrubbed. Strip and seal is for a finish that is yellow, patchy or powdering. The survey decides which one you are paying for.
