Safety floor cleaning

Safety floor cleaning for commercial premises

Safety floor cleaning is a mechanical scrub and rinse for commercial slip-resistant vinyl and similar textured floors. Kitchens, washrooms and entrances book it when a mop leaves the grit full of soil and the floor feels smoother than it should. Send the form or WhatsApp with the area and whether grease is involved.

The floor looks clean from standing height and still feels greasy, or slip tests would fail because the texture is packed. That is the job.

How it works

Machine cleaning a commercial floor
  1. Look at the floor We check the surface, how soiled it is, and when the room can close, then price the visit from that.
  2. Clean that surface A scrub, extraction or degrease matched to the floor. Dirty water is taken up, not pushed along with a mop.
  3. Finish only if it belongs Polish or seal goes on vinyl and linoleum that need it. Safety floors, worn-through timber and peeling resin do not get a shine coat.

What the quote is based on

Quotes follow square metres, soil, access and whether we work while you are closed. A usual UK guide is about £1.50–£3.50 per m² for a machine scrub, £3–£6 per m² for a deep scrub, and £8–£15 per m² when a vinyl or linoleum floor needs strip and seal. Stone and heavy grease sit at the top of that range. Send the form or WhatsApp for a figure on your floor.

Prep

Clear the area of loose mats and portable kit. Isolate a kitchen section if the rest must stay open.

Aftercare

A deck scrub or machine on a short cycle beats a sopping mop. Do not dress the floor with a shine product. That is what removes the slip resistance.

How long it lasts

Busy kitchens often need this weekly or several times a week. A quiet clinic room may only need a periodic deep scrub. Soil left in the grain becomes the new surface.

DIY versus a machine

A string mop rides on top of the texture. Degreaser left unrinsed is itself a slip film.

Wrong job

This is not a vinyl strip and seal, and it is not a pendulum test certificate. If you need a formal slip report, that is a separate survey.

Questions

How do I book safety floor cleaning?

Use the quote form or WhatsApp with the floor type, approximate square metres and the hours the area can be empty. We reply with a visit plan and a price.

What changes the price?

Area, how soiled the floor is, the chemistry the surface allows, and out-of-hours access. A small room with a failed finish can cost more per metre than a large floor that only needs a scrub.

How long until people can walk on it?

A scrub-and-dry floor is usually ready when it is dry to the touch. A new seal or polish needs the cure time stated on the quote, often overnight, before furniture or wet shoes go back.

Can our own cleaners do this instead?

Daily mopping keeps loose dust down. It does not pull soil out of grout, safety texture or a worn vinyl finish. If the floor still looks tired after a proper mop, it needs a machine visit.

Will you polish a safety floor to make it shine?

No. Polish fills the grit that provides the grip. The correct result is clean and dry, not glossy.
